Supporting Students’ Emotional Wellness
Here are a few tips that can help your child stay emotionally and academically healthy during hybrid learning.
Create a “School Vibe”
- Each morning, get dressed for school and prepare all your materials.
- Choose one quiet and separate space where you will work.
- Clear clutter and distractions (leave your phone out of sight!).
Keep Active
- Use your breaks to take a physical break– get up, walk around, stretch . . .
- Make sure to schedule exercise everyday.
Eat Well and Sleep Well
- Eat well-balanced meals and drink plenty of water.
- Go to bed and wake up at the same time each day.
- Keep phones and other electronic devices out of your bedroom.
Stay Grounded, Stay Connected — do things that make you feel good
- Explore a hobby
- Listen to music
- Watch something funny
- Have a virtual dance party
- Schedule time with friends outside of school
- Try mindfulness
If you have questions, talk to an adult – nurse, advisor, teacher, Dean, school psychologist or principal.
